Guardian Home Program
At State of Grace, we believe that every dog deserves to have a loving, forever home. Being a small, family breeder and only housing so many dogs in our home,
we have decided to offer a Guardian Home program.
Our Guardian Home program offers local families the opportunity
to own a 'pick of the litter' puppy at a discounted price while also allowing us to continue adding quality bloodlines to our program to
keep progressing and preserving the breed.

Below you will find guidelines required to be followed if becoming
a member of our guardian home program as well as
answers to possible questions you may have.

Guidelines:
-
You MUST be local to State of Grace Labs.
-
You MUST have prior dog ownership experience as well as references.
-
Guardian family is responsible for routine veterinarian vaccinations, check ups and visits. We’d appreciate copies of vaccination records be sent to us for if any situation arrises whhere we need to know what all he has had done. You may use your vet of choice.
-
Do NOT take the puppy to any public indoor or outdoor places or allow to play with dogs outside of the home until 2 weeks post final vaccinations at 16 weeks.
-
All genetic health testing, OFA tests, semen collection, and other breeding specific appointments will be covered by the Breeder and will be done at our breeding vet.
-
We require the family to not give supplements or medicines unless approved by us. This includes flea, heartworm, or any other meds.
-
We ask for our puppies to be kept on Royal Canin Labrador Puppy for the first 6 months. If you’d like to switch to another hhigh quality food, we just ask that you mention it to us first.
-
If the dog becomes sick or injured, we need the family to notify us right away so we are involved in all decisions regarding the treatment of the dog.
-
Family must be comfortable having a dog that has not been neutered or spayed.
-
All other dogs in the home MUST be fixed if they are the opposite sex.
-
Guardian family should have their own home with fenced in back yard.
-
He/She MUST be an indoor dog.
-
We ask the family to practice safe handling of the dog: No excessive use of stairs as a puppy as it can cause damage to hips/elbow joints. No excessive exercise or long runs on hard surfaces as a puppy as it can be damaging to their joints before being fully developed. No jumping off of furniture or out of cars. Do not leave the dog outside if you are not at home. Don't let the dog sit in the back of an open pickup. Use a leash in public. Provide basic obedience training so the dog has manners. All things that should be done to protect your dog anyway.
-
Updated photos would be greatly appreciated around every 2 weeks, since he is apart of the State of Grace program and we’d like to share him on our social media pages and see how he is doing.
